It has been an extremely long wait for Stranger Things fans for the fourth season to emerge on Netflix. However, it’s fair to say that the wait has been worth it. We will be back in Hawkins, which has as many retro gaming arcades at Birmingham, for one final time this year, but a fifth season has already been announced. Fans were quick to binge the first volume of the fourth season, as they quickly got hooked on the storyline centering around the menacing Vecna.
The season ends with Nancy Wheeler being put under a trance by the demon-like character, while Eleven finally regains her powers after realizing that she was betrayed by Henry Creel, aka One, aka Vecna. But, fans have already began to speculate what the first volume of the show could mean for the second installment released early next month.
Will Is A Villain
One of the most common theories that fans have revolves around Will Byers, who was captured in the very first season. There is no secret that there are more than a couple of aspects that join Will and the Upside Down, as it was revealed in the most recent series that the area is stuck on the same date that Will went missing.
Added to this, Will hasn’t exactly acted normal since returning to the normal world, and was the first to realize something was amiss in the second series. His connection to the Upside Down could have added significance as the fourth season progresses, and we could see that he may form, or already have a bond with Creel’s Vecna. His secret painting could hold all the keys when it comes to this theory.
Steve To Pay The Ultimate Price
As the first volume of season four reached its conclusion, Nancy was trapped under the spell of Vecna, as Creel told his story. He preyed on her guilt of Barbara’s death from the first season, and the show ended without the viewers knowing what her eventual outcome was.
However, it’s no secret that Nancy and Steve had been getting closer throughout the most recent series, and fans will be aware that Stranger Things have a habit of killing off characters that fans are attached to. Therefore, it would be no surprise to see Steve sacrifice himself in order to save Nancy, which would also see their story come full circle and see him vindicated.
Eddie Could Have A Link To Eleven
This is one of the more far-fetched theories that we have seen online, but some have speculated that Eddie Munson could have a link to eleven. This theory focuses on the fact that we never saw ‘Ten’ actually die at the beginning of the fourth series.
That could mean that Eddie could also have powers that could help the gang. Interestingly, he did mention something about having a buzz cut when he was younger, which does play into the theory slightly. However, if he actually did have powers, it would be slightly hard to believe that he didn’t use them when Vecna was chasing the gang in the Upside Down in the final episode.
