Movies and casinos make powerful and glamorous combinations. This’s no doubt why casinos such as bitcasino casino bit and gambling feature in so many films. All forms of gambling are legal in Hungary, providing the casino, whether land-based or online, is registered and licensed with the Hungarian Gambling Authority, and the player is 18 or over.

However, the laws are due to be revised soon to ensure full compliance with EU regulations. Whatever your favorite game, whether it be slots or table games, if you need some advice on selecting a casino to suit your needs, we can recommend Péter Deli as an authority in this field.

Hungary, in particular  Budapest, has featured in several well-known films. Despite this, we couldn’t find a Hungarian casino featured in a movie. We did establish that the old Budapest Stock Exchange building was used as the Las Vegas casino in the film Blade Runner 2049, starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. So, while it is not a casino, you can still visit the site.

Most casinos featured in movies are either located in Las Vegas or never existed other than as a temporary set while filming. Many gambling movies don’t feature casinos at all but are set in pool halls (The Color of Money) or small rooms for high-stakes poker games.

Casinos Outside Las Vegas

Casino Royale

We always thought that this James Bond film, the 21st Bond, starring Daniel Craig as Bond, was filmed in Hungary where poker magyarország online is well known and played by many, but it turns out we were wrong. One of the more recent gambling movies, this was shot mainly in the Czech Republic. It turns out that the Casino Royale itself never existed. Instead, the old Kaiserbad spa,  never a real casino, was used as a casino in the film.

The building is currently closed for renovations, but when the work is complete, you will be able to visit there. Hungary, in particular  Budapest, has featured in many films and television shows, both as itself and as other European cities.

The biggest surprise for us was to find that the Tangiers Casino Las Vegas, where much of the action in the 1995 film Casino, starring Robert DeNiro and Sharon Stone, takes place, also never existed. You can, however, still visit Ace’s house. The Casino movie house address is Rothstein house, 3515 Cochise lane, Las Vegas, Nevada. Filming of the Casino movie was done in a real casino called The Stardust, which has since been demolished.

Casino de Monte Carlo

The 1995 James Bond film Goldeneye features this casino, although Never Say Never Again(1983) was also filmed in Monaco. The movie Grace of Monaco, starring Nicole Kidman, also features the casino.

Sun City Resort and Casino

For many years this was the only casino in South Africa.

It was chosen as the casino location for this movie as it’s close to other sites in the film.  The film featuring this location is The Croupier.

Las Vegas Casinos

Most of the Las Vegas casinos featured in well-known movies are still open for you to visit.

Planet Hollywood Casino

Perhaps best known for its restaurants, this casino is featured in several well-known movies, Including 21, What Happens in Vegas, and Knocked Up.

The Venetian Casino

This casino resort is known as the best in the US for luxury. The rooms are luxurious, and there’s a spa and ten pools. With a choice of two casinos, you’ll be kept busy if you visit here.

Movies featuring The Venetian include Ocean’s Eleven, Rat Race (2001 comedy), and Miss Congeniality 2.

Caesar’s Palace

The hotel and casino have been there for fifty years, so it’s not surprising that it’s been the location for many films, including The Hangover, Ironman, and Rain Man. Much more than just gambling, this casino resort has hosted many live shows. It also offers hotel rooms for those who want to stay longer.

The Bellagio

Ocean’s Eleven (2001) is one of the movies shot here.

Bally’s LasVegas Hotel and Casino

You’ll recognize this resort in the film Honeymoon in Vegas, starring NicolasCage and Sarah Jessica Parker. If you’re planning a trip to Vegas, this might be a good choice for accommodation, as it’s less expensive than some of its competitors.

Conclusion

While you’re planning your trip to see your favorite movie casinos, why not use the time learning the games you plan to play there by playing them online? You can find more interesting movie facts here.
