The first full length trailer for “Cobra Kai” season 3 has arrived including the return of some classic “Karate Kid” characters…
The first look at “Cobra Kai” season 3 has finally arrived.
The continuation of “The Karate Kid” story will pick up in the wake of a tragic event that ended season 2 when students of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence engage in an epic fight in the middle of their high school. Sadly, the battle ended when Robbie accidentally kicked Miguel over a railing and he crashed to the ground causing severe injuries. At the same time, Johnny found himself on the outside looking in after his old sensei John Kreese returned and ultimately took over his Cobra Kai dojo.
Judging by the trailer for “Cobra Kai” season 3, Daniel and Johnny realize the destructive nature of their rivalry has now bled over to the next generation of karate kids, which included Miguel being left paralyzed after his fall and Robbie sent to a juvenile detention center. At some point, Daniel suggests that he and Johnny put their bad blood behind them and team up, presumably to take down Kreese, who has only grown in power and influence since the end of season 2.
Of course it’s already been teased that “Cobra Kai” season 3 would also include Daniel returning to Okinawa after he first visited there during “The Karate Kid Part 2.”
During his trip, Daniel crosses paths with an old flame as Tamlyn Tomita reprises her role as Kumiko and he also engages in a whole new fight with former rival Chozen Toguchi as played by Yuji Okumoto.
Fans of the original “Karate Kid” series will remember Daniel fought Chozen in the final “battle scene” during the sequel. Now it appears they will rekindle that rivalry when Daniel returns to Okinawa during “Cobra Kai” season 2.
Take a look at the new trailer and get ready for “Cobra Kai” season 2 to debut on Netflix on Jan. 8. And one additional reminder that “Cobra Kai” has already been renewed for season 4 so plenty more fights will be coming in the future.
