Supergirl has enlisted the services of another former Supergirl from Smallville to play a season one villain ….

Laura Vandervoort — who is best known for her current role on Bitten as well as her most famous role as Supergirl on the long running CW series Smallville — becomes the latest former super heroine to join the cast of the new Supergirl series on CBS.

Vandervoort will play Indigo, who is described as “a living strong-willed supercomputer that was sentenced to Fort Rozz after turning against the people of Krypton.” Now that Indigo has been unleashed on Earth, it’s going to take a lot to stop her.

Vandervoort is just the latest Supergirl/Superman alum to join the popular new CBS series joining Helen Slater, who played Supergirl in the original movie of the same name as well as Dean Cain, who played the Man of Steel in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

Rumors have been flying (no pun intended) since Supergirl started that Vandervoort would eventually land a part in the series and now it’s happened. She’s expected to pop up in episode 17 during the first season currently airing on Monday nights on CBS.
