Veteran actor and comedian Eddie Izzard has joined the cast of the new Playstation series ‘Powers’ along with a veteran from ‘Game of Thrones’…
The new series ‘Powers’, which will air exclusively on the Sony Playstation network, has picked up some heavy hitters to add to the cast for the upcoming show.
The series is based on the comic book of the same name from all star writer Brian Michael Bendis, which sets the world in an era where people with abilities more commonly known as superheroes and villains are commonplace and called ‘powers’. The show and comic focus on a pair of detectives charged with protecting the normal folks from those with super human abilities and investigating crimes involving those with powers.
Eddie Izzard has been cast as Wolfe, the big bad for the show — a former mentor to the lead cop on the show, he’s been incarcerated for two decades while surgeries have brutally tried to keep his powers in check while he’s been in prison.
Also added to the show is Noah Taylor — known best as Roose Bolton’s pet rat Locke from ‘Game of Thrones’ — who will play Johnny Royalle, a criminal mastermind who uses his ability to teleport as a way to commit daring and brazen crimes.
Finally, Olesya Rulin (High School: The Musical) will play Calista, a teenager with abilities who is always working an angle.
The new show will pick up production later this year with a 2015 debut date on the Playstation network.
