‘Arrow’ Season 2 Episode 10 — ‘Blast Radius’ Recap

After a brief winter hiatus, Arrow returns as all new secrets are revealed as season 2 gets back in the swing of things…

When we last saw Sterling City, Barry was struck by some lightning, Roy was injected by the serum and we saw the flash back of the Doc killing Shado.

The show opens with Arrow facing off against a car speeding towards him, he takes out the car, and has to chase the driver. Arrow eventually catches him, and he tries to investigate him. Oli is obsessed with finding the man behind the skull mask.

Dig and Oli are in the headquarters talking about the skull guy, Blood. Oli is very worried abut the serum getting out in the open.

Flashback: Oli, Sara, and Slade are burying Shado. Oli and Sara argue over weather or not to tell Slade why Shado died. Sara talks him out of it, for now.

Laurel is in her office, and she tries to drop a story on her boss. She drops some back ground on Blood, and then heads out.

Oli is supporting Blood at club Verdant, to help work Blood into being Mayor. He gives a quick speech and the party ensues. Oli questions Thea about Roy, but learns nothing.

Someone is sitting in his car, talking gibberish, and then he pulls up a trigger, and blows up a building. Oliver goes to headquarters, ie. The basement, and Dig shows him some footage on the explosion. He takes off, and goes to help the victims out of the burning building.

Flashback: Slade is very “angry” and says he wants to head after the Doc. As Sara and Oli try to stop him, he “lifts” Oli off the ground by his throat.

Dig and Oli are talking about the bomber, and Felicity shows up joining in on the effort.

Laurel shows up to Bloods new political digs, and tries to work him a bit about Cyrus Gold. Blood two steps the question and tells a story about Gold being his preacher. He then goes on telling a story about his alcoholic father and how he beat him and her. He then said the his mother shot his father and took off. We know who Blood is, so can this story be true? Before leaving Laurel does some snooping and finds the name Maya Resik.

Roy is in the back room and Thea walks in, asking him if everything is ok. They get a bit heated, and then get “heated” in another way. Roy drops her and some glass breaks off in Roy’s arm. He pulls it out, and a few seconds later it begins to heal on its own.

Detective Dad shows up on the roof to give Arrow the stuff they have about the bomber. He begins to ask Arrow about a favor, and another bomb goes off a few blocks away. Felicity gives Arrow some coordinates, and he begins to follow the bomber. After a little bit of a chase, they lose him, and Felicity almost turns Oli into a truck.

Oli goes back to headquarters, and pissed at Felicity, blaming her for losing the suspect. It seems to me, the big green jealousy monster is rearing his ugly head.

Flashback: Slade “comes to” and apologizes to Oli for almost killing him.

Laurel works her dad about finding something on this Maya woman.

Oli finds out that Blood wants to hold a “rally” for Sterling City, and he, well Arrow pays him a visit to try to persuade him otherwise. Blood stands his ground.

The Bomber is apparently a toy store worker, and he makes it very clear to a woman he is helping that he will “show up” at the rally.

Detective Dad, finds out that Maya is Blood’s aunt, and nothing else.

Dig shows up at the rally, and Arrow shows up at the store. As he breaks in, a laser grid appears, and a recording starts telling him that if he moves, at all, the building will blow up. He calls Felicity, and she tells him, his only chance is to blow the fuse box, fixes everything.

As Blood is “pumping up” the people, Dig pries around and figures out that all the sound equipment is rigged with the bomb. The bomber shoots Dig, and then he throws a grenade. It knocks over a light tower, and it almost drops on momma Queen. Roy comes in to save her, and the tower lands on Roy’s back, causing no harm to Roy. Oliver corners the bomber, and just before he hit’s the trigger, Oli shoots the cord and he stops him.

Oli meats Felicity at headquarters, and they have a nice heart to heart and Oli apologizes.

Flashback: Oli and Sara get a call from the Doc. He wants the serum, and will trade their lives for it. Sara goes to get Slade, but returns and says he is gone, along with the serum.

Laurel goes to the “loony bin” and tries to communicate with Blood’s aunt. As she gets closer and mentions Blood, the woman says that “he is the devil, and not to trust a thing he says” She also mentions that she was their the night Blood killed his father…wait that means the story Blood told Laurel earlier was a lie, and the woman isn’t his aunt, but is actually his mother.
