Author Stephen King will pen the first episode of season 2 of CBS’ hit show ‘Under the Dome’ while also making a guest appearance….
When Stephen King wrote ‘Under the Dome’ several years ago, he gave a finite timeline for the stories to unfold for a TV show. Of course that ending changes when the series becomes a summer time hit and there’s no way CBS was going to end this thing after only one season.
So ‘Under the Dome’ will return for season 2 on Monday, June 30 with King on board to write the first episode as well as make an appearance on the show. There’s no word on how big or small of a role King will play, but he will be somewhere in the cast for the debut episode in June.
The stories for ‘Under the Dome’ have now extended out past King’s original book, but he’s stated on numerous occasions that he’s given his blessing to the creators behind the series to take the tale in a new direction to extend out to multiple seasons.
The beginning of season 2 will see the town of Chester’s Mill endure yet another change in the invisible dome after it suddenly becomes magnetic, which immediately sends metal objects from all over the city flying towards the sky. The sudden change also results the death of at least two cast members as the season kicks off.
