Justin Lin is one of the top name directors in talks to join ‘True Detective’ season 2…
The secrecy surrounding HBO’s hit series ‘True Detective’ is nearly impossible to crack, but a few pieces of information have leaked out about the new season including the latest nugget surrounding a director in talks to helm at least two episodes this year.
Justin Lin — best known for his work on ‘The Fast and the Furious’ films as well as the upcoming ‘Bourne’ sequel — is in talks to direct at least a couple of episodes for ‘True Detective’ season 2.
Last season, Cary Fukunaga directed all eight episodes and it won him a best directing Emmy this year, but it seems creator Nic Pizzolatto and the powers that be at HBO are going to have several directors work on the new season.
Lin most recently directed the pilot for the upcoming CBS series ‘Scorpion’ and while he’s prepping for the next ‘Bourne’ film starring Jeremy Renner, it appears he’ll have time to sneak in at least the first two episodes of ‘True Detective’ season 2.
The new season of ‘True Detective’ is supposed to begin production in September with a summer 2015 release date. No details on the cast have been released but rumors have put Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn as the leading candidates to head up the series.
