(As the new season of Sons of Anarchy approaches, the Nerdcore Movement will present a special Days of Anarchy news section with interviews, video and information about the upcoming sixth season of the show)
Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has to be one of the most accessible showrunners in all of television, especially considering how huge his outlaw biker drama is these days.
His WTF Sutter video series on YouTube is a must see for any Sons of Anarchy fan as he answers questions about the series, and also from time to time gives some behind the scenes information on what’s happening before, during and after a season.
In this latest episode, Sutter answers several questions including the upcoming dynamic coming in season 6 between Tara and Wendy as the both battle for custody of Abel Teller. He also drops a big bombshell that this upcoming season will be the most violent yet (which is tough to handle considering we’ve seen Tig’s daughter burned alive and watched a man literally get blown to bits by a landmine)
“Perhaps this is maybe the bloodiest, or at least the most violent season to date, and I think that still holds true,” Sutter said. “Whether that translates into more bodies I won’t say.”
Also one bit of information Sutter reveals is that the debut of Sons of Anarchy season 6 will be a 90 minute episode, as well as episode 4, which will also clock in at 90 minutes.
Sutter teases that multiple episodes could eventually exceed the show’s normal 60 minute run time as well. FX has given Sons of Anarchy more latitude with each season to allow longer episodes including several 90 minute shows to tell the story the way Sutter envisions it.
