Marvel’s Luke Cage continue to add to its cast with Simone Missick joining the show as well as Rosario Dawson crossing over from Daredevil…
Simone Missick — a relative newcomer who has scored parts in shows such as Ray Donovan — has landed a feature part in the upcoming Netflix and Marvel series Luke Cage.
Missick will play Missy, who is likely Misty Knight, a long time friend to Luke Cage over the years.
From the comic books, Misty Knight is a police officer who loses her arm while stopping a bomb from going off and has her limb replaced with a bionic arm courtesy of Tony Stark. She also has her own detective agency where she eventually teams up with Luke Cage from time to time.
Misty Knight also has a romantic relationship with Iron Fist aka Danny Rand, which is the fourth Netflix series from Marvel expected to get into production in 2016.
In addition to Missick’s casting, Luke Cage also scored a crossover star as Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as nurse Claire Temple in the upcoming series.
Dawson is already making appearances in Daredevil, where her character was a love interest for Matt Murdock early on, and expected to show up on Jessica Jones as well. Considering she is the link between three shows, Dawson might play an integral role in pulling all the superheroes together for the event series The Defenders, which is expected to run after all four shows are up and running on Netflix.
Marvel’s Luke Cage is expected to launch in 2016.
