In the middle of the battle between the free folk, the Night’s Watch and the White Walkers, metal band Mastodon made an appearance on the latest episode of ‘Game of Thrones’…
A few months ago the second ‘Game of Thrones’ mixtape titled ‘Catch the Throne’ was released with a mix of hip-hop and metal tracks inspired by the popular HBO series.
One of those groups were the metal band Mastodon, who not only contributed a song but also happen to be massive fans of the show.
Well on Sunday night the members of the band got to live out a fan’s dream by appearing in an episode of ‘Game of Thrones’.
It happened during the epic climax of the episode titled ‘Hardhome’ as Jon Snow and Tormund Giantsbane arrived to try and convince the Free Folk to abandon their land north of The Wall and move south before the White Walkers claimed them for the army of the dead.
Mastodon got the chance to dress as Free Folk for the huge fight scene that decorated the last 15 minutes of the episode. Check them out below in pictures released by the band.

Mastodon joins Sigor Ros, who also appeared on ‘Game of Thrones’ last season as a band playing for King Joffrey after his ill-fated wedding to Margaery.
And if you haven’t heard it before, here’s the song from Mastodon on the ‘Game of Thrones’ mixtape.
