It doesn’t seem like a good sign for the future of Sleepy Hollow as the show runner from seasons 1 and 2 has left the show….
In 2014, Sleepy Hollow was a breakout hit and freshman success story with big ratings and even better reviews from critics all over the world (myself included).
But Sleepy Hollow season 2 failed to capture the imagination of the audience the way the first season did and ratings plummeted and it forced FOX to try and correct course and fix what once appeared to be a potential mega-hit.
Now with Sleepy Hollow still sitting without a renewal for season 3, Mark Goffman — the show runner responsible for both season 1 and 2 — has stepped down and left the show all together.
There was no reason given for Goffman’s exit, but the people behind the series are still searching for a potential replacement.
His exit likely means one of two things — either FOX is going to renew the show and wanted to go in a different direction without Goffman at the healm or the show is already on life support and Goffman jumped off a sinking ship.
For now it seems fans of ‘Sleepy Hollow’ will just have to play the waiting game to see if the show gets picked up for a third season or ends after a lackluster sophomore campaign.
