Former Robocop star turned director Peter Weller will step out from behind the camera for a role in the sixth season of Sons of Anarchy.
Weller has actually been a part of the Sons of Anarchy family for some time now, directing several episodes over the last few seasons.
Now he will step down from the director’s chair and back into the acting role as “a ruthless ex-cop who is a boss at a Stockton port” according to the initial report from the Hollywood Reporter.
Weller will also serve as a director in an upcoming episode of Sons of Anarchy season 6.
Weller might best be known for his role in the 1987 classic Robocop where he played the lead role of cop Alex Murphy, who eventually became the biomechnical police officer. He was later nominated for an Academy Award for his part in the 1993 short Partners.
Most recently, Weller could be found playing the role of Alexander Marcus, one of the main protagonists in the film Star Trek: Into Darkness.
It’s unknown at this time, which episode or episodes Weller will appear in this season of Sons of Anarchy. Sons of Anarchy season 6 debuts on Tuesday night, Sept 10 at 10pm ET/PT.
