AMC has started piecing together the staff that will form the new Walking Dead spinoff series set to debut on the network in 2015. Creator Robert Kirkman will work to create an entirely new cast and storyline for the new series, which will have no correlation to the comic books or current TV series of the same name.
On Wednesday, AMC executives announced the hiring of Dave Erickson, who is best known for his work as a writer and producer on Sons of Anarchy, to executive produce and co-write the new Walking Dead series. Erickson is already familiar with AMC after working there with the now defunct series ‘Low Winter Sun’.
Erickson will work with Kirkman to write and craft the new series expected to debut on AMC in 2015. Meanwhile The Walking Dead will reach its season 4 finale this Sunday night on AMC at 9pm ET/PT.
