The cast for the new Supergirl series at CBS continues to grow with True Blood veteran Mehcad Brooks joining the show as Jimmy Olsen….
Mehcad Brooks — best known for his roles on ‘True Blood’ and ‘Desperate Housewives’ — will join the cast of the new series ‘Supergirl’ to play an iconic character from the Superman universe.
Brooks will play Jimmy Olsen, who is a photographer at Cat Co., the company where Supergirl aka Kara also works under the guidance of Cat Grant. Olsen is described as a ‘smart, worldly photographer’ who catches Kara’s eye when they start working together.
Supergirl will be played by ‘Glee’ star Melissa Benoist.
The new series still has several roles to fill including Cat Grant as well as Hank Henshaw, who will be one of the primary antagonists on the series. Superman fans will recognize the name Hank Henshaw aka Cyborg Superman from the comic books.
The new Supergirl series is expected to get into production later this year.
