FX has picked up another potential hit with the series “Taboo’ starring Tom Hardy landing at the network as of Tuesday…
There’s no denying that the people behind FX have some of the best minds for original and creative television program, so the newest addition to the family should come as no surprise.
“Taboo” — a period piece drama surrounding an adventurer returning home in 1813 to start his own trade and shipping business while simultaneously seeking vengeance for his father’s death — has been ordered by FX for at least eight episodes with a 2016 debut date.
The best part about the series being picked up is the star of the show will be Tom Hardy — best known for his roles in “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Locke” as well as a recent turn in the BBC hit “Peaky Blinders”.
Hardy and his father, Chips Hardy, developed the story for the upcoming series.
The show will be produced by famed director Ridley Scott as well as Steven Knight, who worked with Hardy on the critically acclaimed film “Locke” as well.
Look for “Taboo” to land on FX in 2016.
