The CBS hit comedy The Big Bang Theory will return to television on Thursday night, September 26 with a special back-to-back episode launch.
The news was announced today by CBS executives that the long running ratings hit will get a double dose for its debut in September with two brand new episodes airing on that night.
The two new episodes of The Big Bang Theory will then lead into the new Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar comedy The Crazy Ones.
CBS is putting a lot of faith that the combination of Williams and Geller will make the new ad agency based show a hit, but to give it an extra boost they will give it one of the strongest lead ins possible.
The Big Bang Theory returns for season 7 after another strong year of ratings for season 6. The show averaged over 20 million viewers over the course of the 24 episode season. The Big Bang Theory was renewed for three additional seasons back in 2011 after delivering monster ratings for CBS.
The debut for the new season will land on Thursday night, September 26 at 8pm, with the second episode airing at 8:30 ET/PT.
