The Exorcist will get a “modern twist” with a new pilot television show ordered at FOX …
It looks like The Exorcist will be twisting heads and spewing chunks for a new generation of television viewers.
The classic 1971 possession story by William Blatty that was later turned into a hugely popular film of the same name in 1973 is getting an update for television with a new pilot ordered at FOX.
The new television series for The Exorcist is described as a “modern” version inspired by Blatty’s book with the show pitched as a psychological thriller with two men taking on one family’s horrifying case of possession and coming up against the purest form of evil they’ve ever seen.
The pilot for The Exorcist television series was written by Jeremy Slater, who is also responsible for the most recent Fantastic Four movie as well as the upcoming Death Note screenplay.
