The vampire hunters on ‘The Strain’ can always use more help and they’ll get it this season in the form of a new character, who will be played by Mexican actor Joaquin Cosio, who plays former luchador turned hero Angel Guzman Hurtado aka The Silver Angel.
In the books, The Silver Angel is an iconic former Mexican wrestler, who now lives well out of the spotlight taking menial jobs just to stay afloat. But when vampires descend upon the world, he’s thrust back into action as one of the key warriors to battle against the blood suckers.
Cosio will join season 2 of the show and is expected to team up with Gus, who is forming his own band of vampire killers to stop the undead apocalypse currently sweeping the Earth.
