The first full trailer to the upcoming “Ahsoka” series has been revealed including a look at several fan favorite characters in live action form for the first time…
The latest “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka” — starring Rosario Dawson — is set to debut in August on Disney+ and the first trailer has now been released.
Set during the same timeline as “The Mandalorian,” the upcoming spinoff series will center around Ahsoka Tano, former padawan to Anakin Skywalker, who is searching for answers about an emerging threat in the galaxy that she believes is tied to an old enemy — Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Ahsoka mentioned Thrawn when she first appeared on “The Mandalorian” and we get a very brief glimpse of the blue-skinned baddie in the new trailer. Thrawn hasn’t been seen since he was dragged into hyperspace, bound for a destination unknown, alongside Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger, who was a longtime friend to Ahsoka.
The new trailer also gives us first look at several “Star Wars” characters appearing in live action for the first time including Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and famed Rebel leader Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Sabine Wren, a key figure on Mandalore, and Ahsoka are expected to team up in the new series as the hunt for Thrawn and look for their friend Ezra, who will also be making his live action debut as played by Eman Esfandi.
We also get a look at a new character named Baylan Skoll, who will be played by Ray Stevenson, and he appears to be a villain in the new series, who also happens to be wielding a lightsaber. It’s unclear what his ties might be to Emperor Palpatine or other Sith Lords at this time in the story.
For now, take a look at the new “Ahsoka” trailer and get ready for the series to debut on Disney+ in August with an exact release date still to be determined.
