‘The X-Files’ will return for 10 more episodes with production starting this summer…
The truth is out there and ‘The X-Files’ will continue to search for it.
Following a successful event series that aired last year, FOX has picked up ‘The X-Files’ for 10 more episodes with production kicking off in the summer of 2017 with an airdate during the 2017-2018 television schedule.
“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why THE X-FILES has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide,” said David Madden, President, Fox Broadcasting Company. “Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of THE X-FILES.”
The previous ‘X-Files’ event series only lasted six episodes so this will be a welcome addition with 10 total episodes planned this time around. All of the cast is expected to return including show stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
‘The X-Files’ event series ended on a cliffhanger that led many to believe the show would eventually return and now it’s set in stone that the series will live again.
Look for the new ‘X-Files’ event series to air on FOX in either late 2017 or early 2018. The previous event series kicked off after the Super Bowl in January 2016, so it’s possible the new season could follow the same pattern.
