The newest ‘X-Men’ movies spinoff ‘New Mutants’ has just added a pair of stars to the cast…
Two new mutants have joined the X-Men family.
Anya Taylor-Joy — best known for her role in ‘Split’ and ‘The Witch’ — as well as Maisie Williams — best known as Arya Stark on ‘Game of Thrones’ — have joined the cast of the X-Men spinoff “New Mutants” which is expected to start filming later this year.
‘New Mutants’ focuses on a group of coming of age teenage mutants still trying to understand their powers with Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) attached to direct.
The movie has been labeled as “John Hughes meets Stephen King”.
As far as the characters the actresses will play, Taylor-Joy will portray Magik — a powerful young sorceress who also happens to be X-Man Colossus’ little sister.
As for Williams, she’s playing Wolfsbane — “a lycanthrope struggling to reconcile her powers with her religious beliefs”.
Filming for ‘New Mutants’ will start this summer.
