The ‘It’ sequel is moving ahead with a release date just two years after the first film was released…
The ‘It’ sequel is shifting into high gear with the studio already announcing a premiere date for the follow up film after the original became the highest grossing horror film in history.
The ‘It’ sequel will float into theaters on September 6, 2019 — almost exactly two years after the original film premiered this year.
Director Andy Muschietti is on board to return for the ‘It’ sequel, which will follow the Loser’s Club reuniting 27 years after the original film to once again battle the evil force of nature that manifests itself as Pennywise the Clown.
Casting hasn’t begun to choose the actors and actresses to play the grown up Loser’s Club but that process should begin rather shortly with production on the movie expected to kick off next year. Muschietti has already said that he’s planning on several flashback scenes for the sequel, which means the original ‘It’ cast will be returning as well.
Muschietti has also added that he hopes to explore more of the origin story behind Pennywise in the upcoming ‘It’ sequel.
Stay tuned for more information on the ‘It’ sequel as casting and production gets underway!
