It looks like Jessica Chastain may be going up against Pennywise the Clown in ‘It: Part 2’…
Jessica Chastain always seemed like the perfect choice to play an adult Beverly Marsh in the upcoming sequel to ‘It’ and now that seems like a real possibility.
Chastain is reportedly in talks to star in ‘It: Part 2’ from director Andy Muschietti after the blockbuster debut of the first part of ‘It’ that landed in theaters last year.
Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, several children growing up in the town of Derry, Maine face off with a killer entity that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise as they team together to defeat it. Many years later, It returns and the kids now grown adults reunite to face off with the evil one last time.
Chastain has been a popular choice to play the adult version of Beverly Marsh ever since ‘It’ first opened last year with young actress Sophia Lillis playing the role. Chastain also has past experience working with Muschietti after they teamed up on the 2013 horror film ‘Mama’.
If Chastain is officially cast in the role, she would be the first major role added to the sequel alongside Bill Skarsgard, who is returning to play Pennywise a second time.
‘It: Part 2’ will land in theaters on Sept. 6, 2019.
