‘True Detective’ will officially return to HBO on Sunday night, January 13 at 9pm ET.
The new season stars Oscar winner Mahershala Ali and Stephen Dorff in lead roles as detectives caught up in a macabre crime that stretches over three decades.
Here’s the official synopsis from HBO:
“The new season tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods. Mahershala Ali stars as Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas. Carmen Ejogo and Stephen Dorff also star. Created by Nic Pizzolatto.”
The eight episode series will debut on Jan. 13 with subsequent episodes airing every Sunday night.
‘True Detective’ creator Nic Pizzolatto returned to write the episodes for this third season along with an assist on at least one episode from ‘Deadwood’ creator David Milch.
