Luke Perry — best known for his recent role on ‘Riverdale’ as well as his iconic role on ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ — has died at the age of 52.
The actor was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday after suffering a massive stroke before passing away on Monday.
A native of Mansfield, Ohio, Perry started pursuing acting by moving to Los Angeles where he landed the role of Dylan McCay in ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ where he reached teen heartthrob status throughout much of the early 1990’s.
Perry also crossed over into several film roles including his turn in the original ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ from creator Joss Whedon back in 1992. Perry then made sporadic appearances in numerous other films including ‘The Fifth Element’.
In recent years, Perry returned to television in his role as Fred Andrews on the CW hit series ‘Riverdale’ where he portrayed Archie Andrews’ father for the past three seasons.
He had also filmed a part for the upcoming Quentin Tarantino feature film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, which opens later this year and will feature Perry in one of his final roles.
Perry is survived by his daughter Sophie and his son Jack, who is a professional wrestler in All Elite Wrestling under the name of ‘Jungle Boy’ Nate Coy.
