A slew of new series were announced for Disney+ including ‘Moon Knight’, ‘She Hulk’ and ‘Ms. Marvel’ all coming soon…
Marvel Studios is bringing out the big guns when Disney+ debuts later this year.
At D23 on Friday, Marvel announced a slew of new series headed to the streaming network that launches in November including ‘Moon Knight’, ‘She Hulk’ and ‘Ms. Marvel’.
‘Moon Knight’ is a property that many Marvel fans have believed could be the studio’s answer to Batman for numerous years and now the character is finally getting his own series.

The comic has undergone numerous origin stories but the most recent version is ‘Moon Knight’ is the vigilante alter-ego of Marc Spector, who was originally a boxer turned Marine turned CIA operative and eventually a mercenary as a hired gun and assassin. After Spector was betrayed by a colleague and left for dead, he eventually found his way to the Egyptian desert where he believed the deity known as Khonshu was responsible for saving his life. Spector got his revenge before returning home to the United States where he created the costume that would become Moon Knight. Unfortunately, Spector is also haunted by multiple-personality disorder where he often times shifts into the personality of millionaire Steven Grant or a cab driver named Jake Lockley. In recent years another personality emerged named Mr. Knight, who serves as a consultant to local law enforcement.

‘She Hulk’ is also known by her real name Jennifer Walters, who is an attorney and the cousin of Bruce Banner. She received her powers through a blood transfusion but unlike her cousin, Jennifer was able to embrace her powerful, green side while retaining all of her smarts and personality. The version of the Hulk seen in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is an immediate clue about what to expect when meeting She Hulk for the first time.

And finally, ‘Ms. Marvel’ will also receive a series on Disney+ but this character is different than ‘Captain Marvel’, currently portrayed by Brie Larsen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ms. Marvel is really Kamala Khan, the first Muslim superhero to lead her own series at Marvel. Born as a Pakistani-American in New Jersey, Kamala gains her powers after she’s bullied at a party one night and on her way home the entire town is blanketed in Terrigen mists — the same substance that created Inhumans in the television series ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ as well as the comic books. Kamala emerged from the Terrigen mists that rivaled her favorite superhero, Captain Marvel, and she started to become a hero in her own right while still trying to navigate the incredible powers she just gained.
‘Ms. Marvel’ will be the first of the new series to be released following previously announced series including (in order) ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, ‘WandaVision’, ‘Loki’, ‘What If’, and ‘Hawkeye’.
Following ‘Ms. Marvel’ will be ‘She Hulk’ and then finally ‘Moon Knight’.
All three series will be produced by Marvel Studios, which means the characters could potentially appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point in the future. It’s expected at the very least that Ms. Marvel will crossover at some point in the future.
Disney+ will officially launch on November 12.
