Apple TV+ will launch on November 1 and the new streaming service debuted several trailers this week for the shows that will help kick off the new network…
The streaming world is going to get a little more crowded come November.
While Disney+ is already set to launch that month, Apple is jumping into the deep end as well with the launch of their new service — Apple TV+ — that will debut on November 1 with several high profile show dropping simultaneously.
Apple took a lot of time preparing the launch of Apple TV+ after deciding to get into the original programming game several years ago. The slow build to find original series, showrunners and stars will finally culminate with the start of Apple TV+ in November.
This week at the special Apple event that also announced the new iPhone 11, the trailers for the shows that will help launch Apple TV+ also debuted including several science fiction series as well as a new show starring a slew of ‘A’ list names that will almost certainly get award consideration next year.
Let’s start with the new series titled ‘See’, which stars Jason Momoa in the lead role.
“In the far future, a virus has decimated humankind. Those who survived emerged blind. Jason Momoa stars as Baba Voss, the father of twins born centuries later with the mythic ability to see—who must protect his tribe against a powerful yet desperate queen who believes it’s witchcraft and wants them destroyed. Alfre Woodard also stars as Paris, Baba Voss’ spiritual leader.”

Next up is ‘For All Mankind’, which comes from ‘Battlestar Galactica’ creator Ronald Moore, which takes place in an alternate reality where the Soviet Union won the space race by putting the first man on the moon before Neil Armstrong ever set foot there.
“For All Mankind is created by Emmy® Award winner Ronald D. Moore (Outlander, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica), Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi. Told through the lives of NASA astronauts, engineers and their families, For All Mankind presents an aspirational world where NASA and the space program remained a priority and a focal point of our hopes and dreams.”

And finally the first look at ‘The Morning Show’ was also revealed this week and while this series doesn’t fall into the nerd category necessarily, it’s almost guaranteed with star power like Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell on board, this show will be the talk of the town when it drops on November 1.
“What happens when the people you trust to tell the truth prove themselves to be dishonest? The Morning Show follows the free fall of an early morning newscast in the wake of a scandal, and its struggle to survive in an era when news arrives in the palm of your hand.”

All of these new series will launch with Apple TV+ on November 1 at a cost of $4.99 per month. There will be a total of nine series launched with Apple TV+ with more on the way in 2020.
