The first trailer for Marvel’s “Black Widow” has been released as Scarlett Johansson returns to her roots…

“Black Widow” will officially arrive in theaters on May 1, 2020 and the first trailer has arrived.

The film stars Scarlett Johansson in the iconic role made famous through several Marvel films including all four of “The Avengers” movies not to mention appearances in “Iron Man 2,” “Captain America: Winter Soldier” and “Captain America: Civil War.”

The new “Black Widow” movie takes place after the events of “Civil War” as Natasha Romanoff travels home to deal with her past as she reunites with her “family” including a sister played by Florence Pugh as well as appearances from David Harbour and Rachel Weisz.

You’ll even get a good look at Harbour doing his superhero best as he portrays “Red Guardian,” who is the Russian counterpart to Captain America.

Judging by the trailer it appears Natasha returns home to settle some business from her past including the way she was trained, which eventually led her to becoming a Russian super spy. At some point, she defected and ended up working with S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as The Avengers and it appears the “Black Widow” movie will explore exactly how that all unfolded in this origin story of sorts.

Take a look at the new trailer for “Black Widow” and get ready for the film to land in theaters nationwide on May 1.
