“The Boys” might be gaining a Negan in season 3 as Jeffrey Dean Morgan has held conversations with showrunner Eric Kripke about joining the show…
Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s adoration for the Amazon Prime series “The Boys” might have just landed him a new role.
Back in January on Twitter, Morgan praised the ultra-violent yet hilarious series featuring a world where superheroes exist — except they are narcissistic, drug addicted and often times sociopathic behind closed doors — with a group of operatives seeking to expose their secrets and bring them down for good.
In a heartbeat!

That led to Morgan speaking to “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke about a role potentially being written specifically for him on the show.
Now it appears that conversation may lead to Morgan joining the cast for season 3, although Kripke is quick to point out that no deal is done at this point but he’s optimistic that “The Walking Dead” actor can appear in future episodes.
“I absolutely have [spoken to him],” Kripke confirmed to Collider. “There’s one role we’re already talking about. He has to, uh, we have to like coordinate. Because you know, he’s on The Walking Dead, so he has another home. But we already talked about one role, and there might be a potential other that we’re talking about.
“But we are, just this past week we were literally texting back and forth about trying to figure out how to get him on the show. I don’t think it’s a done deal yet, but the will is there, and we’re both talking about it.”
Morgan seems like a natural fit for a series like “The Boys,” which is based on the comic book series of the same name from writer Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Obviously at this point there’s no word on what kind of character Morgan might play but it certainly leaves a lot of possibilities open if he joins the series in the third season.
For now, gear up for “The Boys” season 2 when the show returns to Amazon Prime on September 4 with the first three episodes dropping that day. Each following week, subsequent episodes will follow until the season finale in October. You can check out the first three minutes of the season 2 debut episode below:
