The countdown to the final season of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” has begun.
The series based on the comic books of the same name set in the Archie universe will come to an end with the upcoming fourth and final season, which debuts on Netflix on Dec. 31.
The first full length trailer for the final season was dropped on Thursday as Sabrina and her coven prepare to do battle with the Eldritch Terrors, which are teased as a whole different kind of evil coming to Greendale.
The Eldritch Terrors are ancient, world-destroying beings including The Weird, The Returned, and The Darkness . The witches of Greendale will face off with each and every one as they arrive in Greendale before The Void arrives, which brings with it the end of all things.
“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” comes from the same team that makes “Riverdale” on the CW and the two shows exist in the same shared universe, although the series have never really crossed over outside of a few random mentions and a couple of minor characters making appearances. “Sabrina” and “Riverdale” showrunner and creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa actually teased plans for a bigger crossover event planned between the two shows but sadly Netflix pulled the plug on the witchy series before season 5 could come along.
