“Fear Street” debuted the first trailer for an upcoming trilogy of horror films that will be released over three weeks on Netflix this summer…
Netflix has always been involved in the horror movie industry but one of the streamer’s most ambitious projects will finally be unleashed in July.
The “Fear Street” trilogy based on the books from R.L. Stine will be released over three consecutive weeks this summer with each film taking place at a different period of time yet all connecting to one murderous mystery.
Here’s the synopsis from Netflix:
In 1994, a group of teenagers discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. Based on R.L. Stine’s best selling horror series, the trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside’s sinister history.
Now unlike the original books, which were very much PG rated, the film adaptations will take things to a much darker place with all three movies rated ‘R.’ The trilogy will start with the first “Fear Street” film set in 1994 and then followed by films taking place in 1978 and then finally in 1666. Here’s the release schedule for the entire trilogy.
Fear Street Part One: 1994 – July 2
Fear Street Part Two: 1978 – July 9
Fear Street Part Three: 1666 – July 16
The “Fear Street” films star Maya Hawke, Sadie Sink, Gillian Jacobs, Benjamin Flores Jr., Darrell Britt-Gibson and Jordana Spiro with some of the cast members appearing in more than one of the movies.
