The first full trailer for “Halloween Kills” has arrived as Laurie leads a mob to go after Michael Myers plus the new trailer features a tribute to “Halloween III”….
“Evil dies tonight.”
Those are the words uttered by Laurie Strode after she’s told the sad news that Michael Myers escaped her death trap and he’s once again wreaking havoc in Haddonfield.
That all unfolds in the first full length trailer for the new film “Halloween Kills,” which lands in theaters on October 15 and serves as part 2 of a three part series planned by director David Gordon Green for his updated “Halloween” trilogy — with the final film coming next year titled “Halloween Ends.”
The new trailer also came along with a synopsis for the upcoming movie:
“Minutes after Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes.
“As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster. The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all.”
“Halloween Kills” will feature much of the same cast from the 2018 “Halloween” movie including Jamie Lee Curtis making her return as well as Judy Greer and Andi Matichak as well as Kyle Richards returning as Lindsey Wallace, one of the children terrified by Michael Myers in the original ‘Halloween” from 1978 as well as Anthony Michael Hall taking over the role of Tommy Doyle.
Also keep a close eye on one particular moment around the 1:33 mark when the “Halloween Kills” trailer pays tribute to “Halloween III: Season of the Witch” — the much maligned but later beloved sequel in the “Halloween” franchise that serves as the only film without Michael Myers as the central antagonist.
