It turns out “Manifest” may live again as the series continues to sit near the top of the streaming charts with both NBC and Netflix possibly interested…
A few short weeks ago it appeared “Manifest” was dead and buried after three seasons on NBC but now the series may get a second life after all.
The supernatural series that follows a group of passengers who disappear on a flight bound for New York and then suddenly reappear five years later as if they never actually went missing in the first place was cancelled by NBC following the show’s season finale earlier this year.
At the time, “Manifest” had just landed on Netflix and the series was crushing the streaming ratings sitting at No. 1 for several weeks in a row and the show has remained in the top five ever since. Despite the interest in the series from a new audience, NBC opted not to renew the series and Netflix also ultimately passed.
Now it appears the ongoing popularity of “Manifest” along with a loyal fanbase calling for the show to continue through a social media campaign tagged #SaveManifest may end up rescuing the series after all.

Multiple reports have stated that both NBC and Netflix are now involved in talks to possibly resurrect the series for season 4 and potentially beyond. “Manifest” creator Jeff Rake had teased that he was hopeful to at least finish the story he initially intended for six seasons with perhaps some kind of wrap up movie just to give fans closure on the series.
The reaction to “Manifest” being cancelled along with the continued success of the series streaming on Netflix may now give Rake the chance to actually complete the show as planned.
According to reports, NBC had additional capital freed up after plans to renew their series “Good Girls” fell through with that show also being cancelled along with a new “Law & Order” series that was also scrapped. That left NBC with room to fill and “Manifest” as by far the highest rated show out of the bubble series that were teetering on the verge of renewal or cancellation.
Meanwhile, Netflix passed on “Manifest” in June but the continued success of the series on the streaming service has them reconsidering that possibility now.
While nothing is done just yet, NBC and Netflix both showing serious interest seems to indicate that there’s a better than average shot that “Manifest” will return for season 4 and possibly more than that.
