More than 30 years after the iconic teen vampire film “The Lost Boys” opened in theaters, a new reboot is currently in the works at Warner Bros.
Noah Jupe — best known for his role in the two “A Quiet Place” films” — as well as Jaeden Martell — who appeared in the recent “It” films — are set to lead the cast for this “reimagined” version of the movie.
Randy McKinnon, who is currently working on the new “Static Shock” film for HBO Max, will write the script for the film with Jonathan Entwistle, who previously directed episodes of “The End of the F**king World” and “I Am Not Okay with This” directing the updated version of the movie.
Of course, “The Lost Boys” is a beloved film originally directed by Joel Schumacher with a cast filled with familiar faces including Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Feldman and the late Corey Haim. The film was a box office success raking in over $32 million on just an $8.5 million budget.
In the years since its release, “The Lost Boys” has become a cult classic film with audiences while also being hailed as one of the most influential horror films of all time.
There have been a pair of forgettable “Lost Boys” sequels in the past as well as comic book series based on the property with rumors about a remake or a reboot swirling for years but nothing ever got made.
Now it appears Warner Bros. is ready to move forward with a new “Lost Boys” movie with a cast, writer and director already in place.
