A major cast member has been added to “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” as Will Poulter joins the third film to play Adam Warlock…
The long coveted role of Adam Warlock in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” has been cast.
Will Poulter — best known for past roles in films such as “We’re the Millers,” “The Revenant” and “Midsommar” — has been cast in the role with the upcoming trilogy written and directed by James Gunn.
Gunn also confirmed the casting after the news was first released on Monday.

Adam Warlock’s appearance has been teased since a post credits scene in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” when Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) as a member of the Sovereign reveals her creation made specifically to destroy the Guardians after they betrayed the group. That creation was Adam Warlock — a perfect being whose sole purpose is to annihilate Star-Lord and the other members of his crew.
In the comics, Adam Warlock is a character who first appeared back in 1967 from Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and there have been dozens of storylines involving him over the years. At one time, Warlock was the person in possession of the Soul gem — one of the mighty Infinity stones that represented all of the power in the universe — and he used that throughout the years including one story where he actually had to battle a future version of himself that had been corrupted and turned evil.
Perhaps one of Warlock’s most famous storylines involved his inclusion in “The Infinity Gauntlet” miniseries where he was one of the heroes most opposed to Thanos and his attempt to wipe out half of life in the universe after he managed to collected all six of the Infinity stones. In the end, Warlock actually possessed the Infinity Gauntlet himself but he ultimately passed out the stones to other members of a team that would become known as the Infinity Watch.
While it seems likely that Adam Warlock will be one of the main antagonists going up against the Guardians in the third movie, it remains to be seen if he’ll stay that way by the end of the film!
Gunn already completed the script for the film but he was just recently working and promoting another film — “The Suicide Squad” — before getting into production on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
With casting underway, expects “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” to go into production sooner rather than later.
