A new trailer for “The Batman” has arrived.
Ahead of the highly anticipated release of the film on March 4, 2022, the first full length trailer for the upcoming movie directed by Matt Reeves was released on Saturday as part of the DC Fandome event.
The new trailer gives a much deeper look at the rogue’s gallery going up against the Dark Knight including Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as The Penguin and Paul Dano as The Riddler.
By all accounts, the Riddler will serve as the main antagonist in the upcoming film where Batman is stuck trying to solve a murder mystery as he seeks to prove he truly is the world’s greatest detective.
Of course, this film is set to take place early in Batman’s career as a vigilante hero but this will not be an origin story like so many past movies. Instead, Batman is already an established hero in Gotham City but it appears he’ll be facing a whole different kind of villain with this movie.
Rumors are that “The Batman” will be a true mystery story with plenty of action as the Dark Knight faces off with a different brand of villain in this film.
Robert Pattinson will take over the lead role as Batman/Bruce Wayne and he’s joined by Jeffrey Wright (“No Time to Die,” “Westworld”) as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro (the “Transformers” films, “The Plot Against America”) as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard (“The Magnificent Seven,” “Interrogation”) as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Jayme Lawson (“Farewell Amor”) as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis (the “Planet of the Apes” films, “Black Panther”) as Alfred.
For now, take a look at the new trailer for “The Batman” ahead of the film’s release on March 4, 2022 and also scroll down for a look at two new posters for the movie.
