“The Boys” universe will extended even further with a new animated series called “Diabolical” coming to Amazon Prime in 2022…
The universe surrounding the hit series “The Boys” is growing even larger.
On Sunday, a new animated spinoff set in “The Boys” universe titled “Diabolical” was revealed in a video posted by actor Karl Urban, who portrays the lead role in the series as Billy Butcher. You can watch that announcement below:
The series will feature eight episodes with a slew of talented writers involved with the series including Garth Ennis, who is the original creator behind “The Boys” comic book series.
“We gathered together some incredible creators and we gave them one rule… just kidding, there’s no rules,” ‘The Boys’ showrunner Eric Kripke said about the upcoming series. “They blew the doors off it, delivering eight completely unexpected, funny, shocking, gory, moist, emotional episodes. You think The Boys is nuts? Wait till you see this.”
Here are the people working to create “The Boys: Diabolical” with the series set to debut on Amazon in early 2022: Awkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot Glazer and Ilana Glazer, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland and Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler.
Needless to say, that’s an all-star cast.
“The Boys” has become a breakout hit for Amazon Prime with the series even earning an Emmy nomination for Best Drama Series this past year.
There’s already another spinoff in the works at Amazon that will focus on a superhero university run by Vought International and now the new animated series called “Diabolical.”
