There will be a new Jonathan Kent on “Superman & Lois” during season 3 after actor Jordan Elsass exited the series…
When “Superman & Lois” return for season 3 on The CW, there will be a new actor playing Jonathan Kent.
Jordan Elsass — who portrayed Clark Kent and Lois Lane’s son during the first two seasons of the show — has exited the series with producers expected to recast the role as production for the new season gets underway.
There are no exact details at this time why Elsass is leaving the series, although multiple reports stated it had nothing to do with any kind of on set incident involving the actor.
“Jordan Elsass has notified the Studio that he will not be returning to ‘Superman & Lois’ for Season 3 due to personal reasons,” Warner Bros. Television said in a statement. “The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast.”
“Superman & Lois” focuses on an alternate universe where Clark and Lois return to Smallville with their twin sons — Jonathan and Jordan — as the family begins to adapt to a new life outside of Metropolis as Superman continues to save the world as the most powerful man on Earth.
The series picked up an early renewal for season 3 on The CW and “Superman & Lois” now remains one of the only DC related series still airing on the network with “The Flash” set to end with the upcoming ninth season.
Production on the show was set to begin in Vancouver in the coming weeks, although now there’s no telling how long there might be a delay as the studio begins the search for a new Jonathan Kent.
