The cast of “Thunderbolts” has been revealed including Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Sebastian Stan joining together in this new Marvel team up….
The cast for the highly anticipated Marvel film “Thunderbolts” was finally revealed on Saturday at D23 with more than a few familiar faces returning for the unlikely team-up movie landing in theaters on July 26, 2024.
As expected, Julia Louis-Dreyfus will return as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who orchestrates building the team, which includes a couple of heroes, several villains and a few others that blur the line between those two distinctions.
Leading the way for the team will be Florence Pugh returning as Yelena Belova — a popular character who first appeared in the “Black Widow” movie alongside Scarlett Johansson before a post-credits scene meet up with Valentina Allegra de Fontaine teased her eventual entry into the Thunderbolts.
David Harbour will also return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Red Guardian, a character the “Stranger Things” star first played in the same “Black Widow” movie alongside Pugh.
Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier after he last appeared as the character in “Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” which ended with the coronation of a new Captain America in Sam Wilson, who will be starring in his own solo film.

Wyatt Russell will once again portray John Walker aka The US Agent after he was also recruited by Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character in “Falcon and The Winter Soldier” following a brief (and deadly) stint as the new Captain America.
Hannah John Kamen will return as Ghost — a character she portrayed in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” while Olga Kurylenko reprises her role as The Taskmaster from the “Black Widow” film to round out the main cast.
“Thunderbolts” is based upon a team from Marvel Comics that was typically comprised of villains or anti-heroes, who would work together while masquerading as heroes as they attempted to orchestrate their own evil agenda while using more brutal methods to get the job done. Despite the nefarious nature of the team, the Thunderbolts usually ended up doing good in the world, even if it came by accident in the course of serving their own means.
Judging by the team put together for the upcoming “Thunderbolts” movie, Marvel is mixing together a group of characters who have all played villain in one form or fashion in the past, which speaks to the heart of this particular team formation.
Jake Schreier is slated to direct the film due out in July 2024 with production on the movie expected to kick off sometime in 2023.
