Norman Reedus isn’t completely finished with “The Walking Dead” just yet but he’s already booked his first major film role since the series ended…
Normal Reedus has found life after “The Walking Dead.”
The 53-year-old actor, who has portrayed Daryl Dixon on the popular horror series for the past 11 seasons, has booked his first major role since the show wrapped up production with the final episodes currently airing on AMC.
Reedus has signed on to star in “The Bikeriders” from director Jeff Nichols and he joins a cast that already includes Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy, Michael Shannon, Boyd Holbrook and Damon Herriman.
The film was inspired by the 1967 book of the same name from photographer Danny Lyon.
Nichols’ version of the film will center around the rise of a motorcycle club in the 1960s that starts out as a brotherhood between friends but over the years the club evolves into something much more sinister, which threatens the original group’s way of life.
Of course, Reedus is well-versed in the world of motorcycles considering his character on “The Walking Dead” has been riding one for most of the series. Reedus’ own passion for motorcycles eventually led to a reality series titled “Ride with Norman Reedus” that ran for five seasons on AMC as the actor traveled around the world with friends telling stories and experiencing various locales all while traveling on bikes.
While this is Reedus’ first major role since “The Walking Dead” wrapped production, he’s not totally done with the zombie apocalypse just yet.

He’s already signed on to star in a spinoff series focused solely on his character Daryl Dixon that will take place in Europe. The series will just be titled “Daryl Dixon,” although there’s no word on when production might start on the new spinoff show.
