The first look at “Servant” season 4, which will be the final season for the Apple+ series, has been unleashed along with a promise that all secrets will be revealed…
“Servant” has remained one of the most intriguing yet at times utterly confusing series on television but with the final season set to debut on Apple+ on January 13, the show is promising “all will be revealed.”
That’s the tagline for the first look at “Servant” season 4, which is the final season of the series from executive producer M. Night Shyamalan.
The series centers around a Philadelphia couple who are grief stricken after their infant child dies and the mother Dorothy has a break with reality, which forces her husband Sean to actually give her a replicant doll to represent the child they lost just to bring her back to some sense of normalcy. The couple ends up actually hiring a nanny to care for their “baby” but when a strange young girl named Leanne arrives at their front doorstep, odd things begin to happen — including the doll suddenly transforming into a real child again!
Over the past three seasons, Leanne has been revealed as a member of a fundamentalist cult called the Children of Lesser God, who seem to covet and yet fear the power this girl possesses. When the third season came to a close, Dorothy had grown to distrust Leanne after attempting to welcome her into the family and she decided to flee with her baby in tow. During her getaway, Dorothy ends up in another conflict with Leanne as both her husband and brother attempt to walk her back from taking any drastic actions.
In the end, Dorothy leans on a bannister that has been rotted away by termites — perhaps part of that power that the mysterious nanny possesses — and she falls several stories before colliding violently with the ground. Meanwhile, Leanne is able to snatch the baby away from Dorothy just before she plummets to the floor.
The “Servant” season 4 trailer promises an “epic conclusion” with all the secrets surrounding Leanne, the mysterious baby that came back to life and the cult being revealed before the last episode ends.
