The full trailer for “Secret Invasion” has arrived with the limited series now set to debut on Disney+ in June…
“One last fight.”
Those are chilling words echoed by Nick Fury in the closing moments of the new trailer for “Secret Invasion” — the limited series from Marvel that now has a debut date on June 21 on Disney+.
The series loosely based upon a crossover comic event of the same name will detail how a faction of Skrulls — the shape-shifting aliens first seen in “Captain Marvel” — have now landed on Earth in greater numbers with plans to take over by mimicking people in positions of great power all over the world.
The leader played by “High Fidelity” star Kingsley Ben-Adir appears to be formidable opponent for Nick Fury, who returns to find Earth in a much different place than the planet he left years earlier as revealed during the events in “Spider-Man: Far From Home.”
Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Fury while taking the lead in the upcoming series, which also features Olivia Colman and “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke as she officially joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Don Cheadle will also reprise his role as James “Rhodey” Rhodes as well as Ben Mendelsohn as Talos — a Skrull and ally to Fury — and Colbie Smulders returning as Agent Maria Hill.
From the look of things, the six-episode series spared no expense with a show spanning the globe while setting up another major battle for planet Earth this time with the Skrulls seeking a place at the head of the table.
