The first look at “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” has arrived as Norman Reedus travels to France to continue his character’s story away from the main series…
“My names’s Daryl Dixon … I come from a place called the Commonwealth. It’s in America. I went out looking for something and all I found was trouble.”
That’s the opening line we hear from Norman Reedus as his character Daryl Dixon in the first look at the new spinoff series titled “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” which debuts on AMC this fall.
The show will see Daryl travel from his home at the Commonwealth to France, although we don’t know exactly why he goes there, although it seems likely he’ll be looking for his old friend Rick Grimes. Here’s the official synopsis for the show from AMC:
“Daryl (Reedus) washes ashore in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”
Obviously, Daryl survived the series finale of “The Walking Dead” but the new series doesn’t exactly set a timeline for how far after those events that this show takes place. Another spinoff — “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” which features Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) traveling to New York City together takes place several years after the events in “The Walking Dead” because Maggie’s son Hershel is now a teenager when he was still a child on the original show.
“The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” also stars Clémence Poésy and Adam Nagaitisand in featured roles.
For now take a look at the first footage from the series and get ready for a lot more Daryl Dixon when the show debuts this fall on AMC.
