The ‘BOOM!’ and ‘POW!’ world of Batman ’66 is getting an all-star writing team as writer/director Kevin Smith and comedian Ralph Garman join the series for a special 12 issue arc starting in May…
Anyone that grew up a Batman fan is well aware of the iconic Adam West/Burt Ward TV series from the 1960’s and lately DC Comics has brought that version of the Caped Crusader back to life in a new comic book called Batman ’66.
Now ultimate Batman fan Kevin Smith has teamed up with his Hollywood Babble-On co-host Ralph Garman on a 12-part series for Batman ’66 where he teams up with another 60’s favorite, The Green Hornet for an upcoming story arc.
“We’ve been sitting on this secret for months now, but Kevin and I have teamed up to get Batman from 1966 back together again with the Green Hornet,” Garman said.
The dynamic podcast duo has known about the project for several months, but now that the book is about to be released they can finally talk about it. Both Smith and Garman have been huge fans of Batman for decades, and this is a chance to put a spin on the classic TV series in a comic book.
Smith, who has worked on several other Batman related comic books in the past, smiled from ear to ear for the chance to work on Batman while also bringing in The Green Hornet for a superhero team-up.
“This is a big deal to us,” Smith said. “The only known crossover in the world of the Batman ’66 TV show, where you met another crime fighter with a mask, that’s it life’s over.”
The first issue for Batman ’66 teams up with the Green Hornet will be available online first starting May 21 before being released in comic book stores on June 4.
