In the latest Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. recap, Fitz continues his hunt for Simmons while HYDRA finds a new member…
By Chris Smolinski — special to Nerdcore Movement
The scene opens in England, 1839 in an old castle with a group of men around a large table. They each take something out of a pouch and once everyone has one, they flip their hands over to reveal they all have a small black stone, well all except one, who has a white stone. They man with the white stone is tasked to enter the stones portal.
Cut back to now, and Skye-er Daisy and Mack are talking about last week’s inhuman. Daisy feels like he is a good fit for the team, and as usual Mack disagrees. Bobby and Lance (Hunter) burst into the room saying Fitz has broken into the container that has the rock in it. The poor guy has had a rough few months without his better half. They get him out just before it waterizes itself. Fitz notices some sand on Bobby’s finger and they realize it’s a very old rock. Fitz them informs the team that it is a portal. They all decide they need to find a way to get to Simmons. The team splits off and they all head their separate ways. I miss that accent of Hunter.
Screechhhhh go the tires of a fancy sports car. It has a man on the hood, moaning and groaning as he desperately holds on, and we see ward driving the vehicle. He is explaining how Hydra went soft, and how he, as the new leader, is going to toughen it back up. I got to say, as a good Ward, he was boring, but the bad Ward is fun…
Phil is talking to Professor Elliot, who apparently got himself thrown in jail. Because he is a prof. well and because he is Asgardian, they could really use his help. He refuses for a while, but Phil eventually talks him into it, with a threat. He breaks out, and they all head past the confused jailers.
Dr. Garner shows up to evaluate the new inhuman, and just as Daisy thought he deems him unfit to join the new team. The scene cuts to May and her father at a driving range. Wait May is trying to be normal??? Weird, anyway they have a quick heart to heart and Dad is trying to get to her, which is almost impossible. The scene cuts back to the Prof and the team trying to figure out the rock. Ha, Fitz tries to threaten the Asgardian before he says he will actually help. Upon showing him the paper that came with the rock, the Professor is excited and tells the team “to the plane”.
The scene then cuts to Ward and Kebo eyeing a boat. They want to “chat” with the kid that owns it. After dispatching the guards, Ward kidnaps the kid. The scene cuts back to the “good guys” and they are in the castle in England. The team finds a secret door, and they head in.
Daisy and Dr. Garner have a little chat, and he explains to her that they have to be careful. He feels that most of them are too reckless, but Daisy isn’t. After a good back and forth, Daisy explains she just wants the best for the new Inhumans. The scene cuts to May slicing at some veggies. Dad is still trying to get something, anything out of May, but no use. She notices a figure walking by the window, and just before she slices his throat she realizes it is Hunter. The scene cuts back to Fitz and his crew find an old machine, super old. After turning it on, they decide they need the rock to proceed.
The scene cuts back to Ward and Kebo. They are torturing the kid to get passwords from him. May and Hunter talk a bit and he says he needs help getting to Ward. She refuses but before he leaves, Hunter leaves some package in case she changes her mind. Cut back to the rock being placed in the hole. A few more wires put together and they get the rock to liquefy but it breaks apart and hurts Daisy in the process.
Daisy seems to be ok, and she tells them how she heard a sound, but no one else did.
Scene cut to Kebo beating on the kid, but he gets the upper hand and impresses Ward. Ward walks him through Hydra’s new quarters before we learn who this rich kid really is and why his bloodline is so important.
His name is Werner Von Strucker — the son of deceased HYDRA leader Baron Von Strucker!
The scene cuts to May’s father once again trying to get something out of her. She explains how all she wants is a normal life, but we all know it’s impossible for May. Ward and Werner talk Hydra shop and Ward tells the kid his plan for expansion. The scene cuts back to Fitz’s crew, and they are trying to figure out how to get the machine to work. After realizing they are standing in a big amplifier, Daisy figures she can help open the portal for them.
Daisy uses her power to help open the portal, Fitz clips on to a winch and jumps in the portal. He slowly walks through the windy dusty, wherever they are, and yells for Jemma. After a while he hears her, and he tries to grab her. Daisy is struggling to hold on and Fitz can’t quite reach her as the winch locks out. After both sides go through a struggle and Daisy explodes the rock we find Fitz…and Jemma among the rubble. Back safe on the plane Jemma and the crew are safe. Phil and the Prof. talk a bit and the scene cuts to Dr. Garner calling May to let her know all is well. May hangs up the phone and Hunter is ecstatic. Jemma wakes, scared, but calms down when she notices she is safe. She curls up on Fitz’s leg and falls back asleep.
Final scene is a mystery man talking to Dr. Garner. He wants to join his class. It shows Werner is the mystery man. What could Ward have in mind with this kid?
Episode two, much like the first has a ton of mystery. But the team did save Jemma, so that is something, or is it. Will Jemma be the same? Drop me a comment on what you think might happen with Jemma.
