The first full length trailer for ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ has arrived as the series tackles the classic slasher films of the 1980’s…
‘American Horror Story’ has tackled all sorts of horror genres over the years and the latest installment will jump head first into the classic slasher films of the 1980’s.
The first full length trailer for ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ dropped on Monday with a look at what lies ahead for a group of camp counselors who are being stalked by an escaped mental patient. It sounds like a familiar story but if creator Ryan Murphy is known for one thing when it comes to ‘American Horror Story’, it’s keeping the audience guessing from the first episode until the last.
By the look of things, the story sets up Emma Roberts as the ‘final girl’ in this story after she experienced another terrorizing encounter with a slasher before she signs up to become a counselor at Camp Redwood. Once she arrives at the camp along with her friends, the group soon faces a new threat from an escaped mental patient named Mr. Jingles — or at least the urban legend about him stalking and killing teenagers at this same site.
All of the classic slasher film tropes are on display in this trailer as ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ looks to renew the genre with the upcoming season that kicks off on FX on Wednesday night, September 18.
