‘Avengers: Infinity War’: Thanos’ Black Order Unveiled (PHOTO)

When Thanos takes on the Avengers in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ he won’t be alone…

The anticipation is growing for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, which is due out on May 4, 2018 but on Saturday some new information about the upcoming movie was unveiled at the D23 convention in California.

Josh Brolin — who portrays cosmic bad guy Thanos — walked out on stage to unveil a first look at the Infinity Gauntlet, which is a weapon he’s been after since appearing in the first ‘Avengers’ movie back in 2012.

Now we already know that at some point, Thanos will assemble all of the powerful infinity stones to form the gauntlet and while that will be the ultimate power in the universe, he still won’t be facing off with the Avengers all by himself.

It was confirmed that The Black Order — a group fiercely loyal and devoted to the Mad Titan — will also appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.

There’s no details on who will be playing the parts (or at least voicing the CGI versions) but we got a brief glimpse of them standing behind Brolin on stage.

Who are the Black Order exactly?

Corvus Glaive — Thanos’ top general who commands his armies while possessing the same ruthless demeanor has his boss. Glaive has enhanced speed, strength and durability while also carrying a bladed pike that can cut through anything. The spear can also regenerate Glaive so long as he’s holding onto the weapon, which makes him virtually immortal.

Proxima Midnight — Glaive’s wife and the fiercest warrior amongst Thanos’ troops. Proxima is a master at hand-to-hand combat and she uses a super powered lance that holds within it all the power of a star. When she unleashes the weapon, Proxima can launch lethal light beams or even a net so powerful that it can hold down the Hulk

Ebony Maw — Not a warrior on the battle fiend but instead possessing genius level intellect with persuasive powers that border on mind control. He also holds onto a teleportation device that can take him anywhere in the blink of an eye.

Black Dwarf — A powerful warrior with impenetrable skin (think Luke Cage) with incredible strength and brute force to get the job done. He’s also Corvus Glaive’s brother.

Now there’s no telling if the versions of these characters in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ will mimic their comic book counterparts but it’s safe to say at least some of the attributes will be the same.

Prepare to witness Thanos’ Black Order when ‘Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet’ lands in theaters next year.
