The full length “Billions” season 5 trailer has arrived as Bobby Axelrod prepares for war on all sides including a new rivalry with a character played by Corey Stoll…
Bobby Axelrod really needs to watch his back in “Billions” season 5.
A new trailer for the Showtime series dropped on Thursday ahead of the season debut on May 3 and it’s clear that Axe will be fighting a lot of battles after claiming victory at the close of season 4.
Following a back-and-forth fight with former prodigy Taylor Mason, Axe was able to force them back to work at Axe Capital thanks to the leverage that Chuck Rhoades placed on their firm. In reality a season filled with doing Axe’s bidding forced Chuck to reconsider their alliance — and now he’s looking to use Taylor to bring down Axe once and for all.
Little does Chuck know that Taylor is working against both of them in order to finally come out victorious.
If that wasn’t enough, “Billions” will introduce a new power player into the mix — a social impact billionaire named Mike Prince (played by Corey Stoll), who will go to war with Axe during season 5. There’s also a new character played by Julianna Margulies, who will also get into the mix this season as the explosive rivalry between Axe, Chuck and Mike Prince threatens to burn down everyone around them.
Take a look at the official synopsis for “Billions” season 5 from Showtime:
“Bobby Axelrod (Damien Lewis) and Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) see their vicious rivalry reignited, while new enemies rise and take aim. Social impact pioneer Mike Prince (Corey Stoll) poses a true threat to Axe’s dominance, and Chuck feuds with a formidable district attorney (Roma Maffia). Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon) is forced back to Axe Capital, where Taylor must fight to protect their employees and their assets. Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff) reevaluates her loyalties and forges surprising new alliances that put her at odds with both Chuck and Axe. This season, the struggle for power becomes a struggle for survival, and all characters must adapt or risk extinction.”
