The second ‘Black Panther’ film won’t land in theaters until 2022 but that’s because director Ryan Coogler is taking his time to make sure he gets it right…
To no one’s surprise, ‘Black Panther 2’ is coming from Marvel Studios but now we know the release date.
The highly-anticipated sequel will land in theaters on May 6, 2022 — more than four years after the original film opened in February 2018.

The reason for the delay? Director Ryan Coogler, who is returning to helm the sequel after he handled the massively popular first ‘Black Panther’ film said it’s because the cast and crew want to make sure they get this film right.
“We’re taking our time, we’re really trying to get it right,” Coogler said when speaking at the D23 convention on Saturday.
Coogler and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that a script is already in motion with a villain in mind for ‘Black Panther 2’ but they weren’t ready just yet to make that announcement on Saturday.
The main cast from the first ‘Black Panther’ are all expected to return in the sequel with Chadwick Boseman playing the lead role as King T’Challa.
